Good food. Good mood.

Our beachfront restaurant and bar, open on three sides to the sand. Breakfast people, lunch people, one-more-drink people, hotel guests and neighbours alike.

Breakfast for two at Sunnyside Up, looking out to the Indian Ocean

The room

Concrete floor, timber tables, the sea for a fourth wall.

Breakfast until you're ready, seafood off the reef, pasta you didn't expect in Diani, and a bar that takes its cocktails seriously.

The kitchen cooks what it likes and what the reef brought in. The shakshuka has its own Tripadvisor review. The brunch burger comes with a fried egg on top, because of course it does. Seafood with the sea in view, pasta with some depth to it, salads with something going on. The bar pours proper cocktails, a short wine list and coffee that takes itself seriously. Open daily from breakfast until the last sundowner; exact kitchen and bar hours on WhatsApp.

The Boat Bar: a weathered wooden boat with rolled towels, by the pool

Boat Bar

Sundowners from a boat that's seen a few.

An old wooden boat, retired from the water and promoted to bar, by the pool and facing west. Open from late afternoon. On Fridays and Saturdays it's the centre of Sunset Socials.

Table for two, or ten.

Hotel guests have a table whenever they want one. Neighbours and day visitors, message ahead and we'll hold one by the sand.
