Sunset Socials · Fridays and Saturdays
Do less. Dance a little.
The sun goes down, the pool fills up. A DJ under the umbrellas, sundowners at the Boat Bar, and the whole of Galu Beach dropping by. Hotel guests are already on the list.
How it works
Same beach. A different beat.
- When
- Fridays and Saturdays from late afternoon. The DJ starts as the light turns and plays until it ends. Check @discover.lala for this weekend's line-up; days and hours can shift with the season.
- Where
- The pool deck and the Boat Bar at LalaGalu, Galu Beach. Sand at your back, sea in front.
- Who
- Hotel guests, neighbours, Diani regulars, the odd kitesurfer still in a harness. No cover, no list; just turn up.
- What to drink
- Sundowners from the Boat Bar: dawa, coconut and lime, cold beer, a short wine list. Sunnyside Up keeps the kitchen open.
- Staying over
- Cabins are a one-minute walk from the pool, which is the whole point. See the cabins.
Beyond the weekend
Art on the walls, music in the air.
Sunnyside Up doubles as a gallery. Artists from Nairobi and further afield have shown work here since we opened, from miniature sculpture to augmented-reality yoga. Private events on the deck are possible too; write to us with dates and we'll tell you what's possible.
